Tom Cruise as Colonel Stauffenberg in Valkyrie

Based on actual events, Valkyrie follows a plot to assassinate Hitler during the height of World War II.
Colonel Claus Von Stauffenberg was at the center of this plot.
Cruise was attracted to the role based on the resemblance of his profile to the colonel.

Because of Tom Cruise's involvement in Scientology the movie fuels some controversy.
But let's hope that a spreading global awareness of Stauffenberg's attempted plot will result from this movie.

The movie is currently in production and should be released in February 2009 (the release date of Valkyrie has been pushed back twice already!).
